We are looking for 2 Part Time (16 hours per week) Support Workers to join our friendly and welcoming team in the Northampton area.We have 2 positions for 16 hours per week, temporary for six months to cover maternity leave. Shifts will vary, and the manager will consider weekends only. Drivers are preferable.

We are currently supporting 6 individuals with a learning disability who all live together in a shared accommodation setting. 

The people that we support at this service like to keep busy and getting out and about, having meals out in the local pubs, watching new and exciting movies at the cinema, visiting theaters and going bowling.

You will also be supporting with all levels of personal care, assisting with household duties, budgeting the finances of the individuals and administering medication. 

As a Support Worker for Mencap you need to be able to meet the needs of those that we support as well as be flexible and resourceful in order to keep up with them.

When at home, they like to be involved in the upkeep of their house and every day activities such as cooking, cleaning and washing. In their free time, they enjoy games, watching TV, visiting local cafes and of course, a good conversation. 

The shift patterns cover the following shifts: Monday - Friday: 7-11, 8- 3, 3-9, 3-10  and the Weekend shifts are:  7-3, 8-3, 10-8, 3-9, 3-10. There is an element of flexibility, as long as the organisational needs are met.
