About Mencap

We want a world where people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to and included. Everything we do is about making this world a reality.

Job Advert

You will spend time with a gentlemen in his 60's visiting him 6 times a year.

Our gentleman lives independently in a nice self contained flat but supported by staff who check in on him every day.

He is a fun chap who follows Arsenal football club.  He really enjoys going for a mooch around the local charity shops and loves spending time in his local area and nearby high street.  He would very much like someone to go out with.

You will spend time with our man joining in with his favorite activities. Visits can take place at home but he would love to go out for a meal with you or a trip out somewhere for a cuppa and a slice of cake and a friendly chat.

He will enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer like you. By visiting every other month, you will make a huge difference.

You will be introduced and get to know him with the support of Mencap staff.

When & where do I need to be available?

Visits are every 2 months and preferably on Mondays or Thursday from 4pm however other days and times can be arranged.
