If you are a keen fishing fan and want to support someone with a learning disability pursue their interest in the sport, this could be the volunteering role for you.
 
We are looking for a friendly and reliable volunteer to spend time with one of the people we support and help him pursue his interest in fishing. 
 
The role will require you to have some knowledge of setting up and casting a line and also to share your fishing expertise with the person we support and help him achieve and enjoy the activity. You will support him on a one-to-one basis, but will have available contact with and support from the local team.
 
To be a Fishing Sidekick you need to be:
  • Over 18 years of age
  • Have your own fishing equipment
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Good at communicating and listening
  • Able to volunteer one day per month for a time period to be agreed
There are no set days and time you’ll be volunteering, but we ask for a commitment of at least 6 months.
